SalvageData Recovery for Windows is a data retrieval and backup application. It extracts data from deleted, formatted, or corrupted NTFS or FAT 12/16/32 volumes, even if the operating system does not recognize them. It supports both internal drives (SATA, IDE,SCSI) or external USB ones. There are four modules, each with specific functions, available from the main interface.
HDD Data recovery module scans a drive for files - including the deleted ones - and displays them in folder-tree view. Filters can be also applied to look just for files with a specific name, creation date, or size. Recovered files cannot be saved to the same partition they were stored on, even if the hard disk is fully functional. If the computer has just one drive, a USB storage device can be attached to save the files.
The HDD Backup image module saves all the data from a partition into a binary backup file. Very good for storing a large number of files, this solution is usually chosen for database backups.
HDD Backup Clone module makes a disk-to-disk duplicate copy. This is used for operating systems backup and allows complete restoration in case of data loss or hardware failure. HDD Smart Diagnostic analyzes drives for potential failures, using data from the sensors incorporated into hard disks. While it's not always possible to predict when or if a hard disk will crash, it's always useful to monitor these diagnostics for any sign of error.
Overall, SalvageData Recovery for Windows is a reliable solution for data retrieval and backup, with all the necessary options for both home and business users.
